Scouts and Guides Movement in France looking for a partner group in Poland


Hi !
We are the "Caravelles" from Saint Médard en Jalles (Bordeaux, South West
France). We are 12 girls from 15 to 18 years old with 3 young chiefs (2
girls and 1 boy). We belong to the Scouts and Guides Movement in France
(Scouts et Guides de France).
We would like to camp in Poland this summer from July 11. to July 31. 2006
(including rising days). We would like to set up a partnership with a group
of about 10 to 20 girls, or boys and girls in approximatly balanced numbers.
If theses youths are from a Scout movement, we would share our respective
technics of scoutism. If not, we would bring ours and share them.
Here is what we envisage for this summer. If you are interested in a
partnership, we would for sure redefine our goals, dates and activities
together, so that this project becomes a common project and that it makes
sense to everyone.
We plan to spend about 6 days, from July 13. to July 19. for instance,
camping with foreign unit(s). With these 6 days, we expect to share our
values and ways of practicing scoutism, to know each other's culkture better
.. We want to discuss about our differences, our similarities as youths and
Europeans, and to think about the Europe we want to build for tomorrow.
We've thought about different activities such as making a film, singing,
debates, celebrations, games, typical camping days organised by each group
to show the others how it practices scoutism...
We would like then, from July 20. to July 26. for instance, to make
ourselves useful for the inhabitants of the place we will live in, in order
to meet them and help them if they need any services. That is a very
important point of our scoutism. What we are looking for is (re-) building
works in public places (schools, churches, etc...) or private ones (damaged
houses belonging to poor people, etc...). We also like to take care of
children and we could do some animation. We could do these services on our
own or share these moments with the same foreign units as for the first week
of camping.
We would end our trip with some days of tourism on our own, maybe
travelling, in order to better discover the culture of the country we will
be in, and also maybe the surrounding countries.
